Agelversaries & Being Grateful For The Things We Prayed For
Have you ever prayed for something and it was given to you? We certainly have. Some things did not work out as we had hoped. Some precious things we wish had turned out much better than they did. But what about the things we prayed for and received in full and beyond our wildest dreams?
The Lord has taken but He has also given so much beyond what we had hoped. Our family suffered immeasurable loss and heartache after baby Julian & Ariella. We will never be satisfied with their absence from our lives. That's not something we will be able to reconcile until the resurrection of life. No amount of earthly blessings will take away our hope in having them restored to us one day.
Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment. (John 5:28-29)
But while we wait for that blessed hope, we are thankful for the abundant life and love we have found in our two living boys. The amount of answered prayers we have found in these boys is something I am deeply grateful for. There's an unspoken shared reality in our family that life is precious and family is something to cherish and love. In some unexpected way, loss has knit our family together tighter than before. Together we weathered the storms. Together we prayed for the things we have today.
