Passover is next week, are you ready? Due to this month having so many extra lessons and resources, I will probably go back to one lesson per month in April.
Part of the passover celebration includes the counting of the Omer. There are 50 weeks or 7 weeks between Passover and Shavuot (Pentecost). Count the Omer as a family with this sticker poster! Use any fun stickers you have at home.
How to count the Omer:
- Begin counting on the evening after the first Sabbath of Unleavened Bread (April 9, 2023 in the evening) calendar date may vary depending on tradition and year you follow.
- Nightly count the days until Shavuot (place a sticker on the dot)
- Recite the Omer blessing if you'd like or add your own traditions
Barukh atah A-donai E-loheinu Melekh Ha-ʿolam asher qid'shanu b'mitzvotav v'tzivanu ʿal S'firat Ha-ʿomer.
Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the Universe, Who has sanctified us with His commandments and commanded us to count the Omer.
“Then you are to count from the morrow after the Shabbat, from the day that you brought the omer of the wave offering, seven complete Shabbatot. Until the morrow after the seventh Shabbat you are to count fifty days, and then present a new grain offering to Adonai." Leviticus 23:15-16
