Parable of The Pharisee & The Tax Collector
The humble will be exalted in the Kingdom
Sometimes I love God's sense of humor. In this age, we want to make a name for ourselves. We want to stand out, to take first place, to be known. But in the age to come, it will be those who didn't seek the spotlight, those who weren't widely known, those who were quietly and humbly faithful. Those are the ones who will be exalted and given a place of honor.
Our faith doesn't need to make us famous or recognized among our peers. It doesn't have to come with honors and titles. Sometimes the biggest faith looks the most ordinary. It is prayers at our bedside. It is giving in secret. It is sitting with a friend who is hurting. It is pointing our children to Messiah, day after day, without a fancy title or a platform to our name.
"Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that He may lift you up at the appropriate time." 1 Peter 5:6
