Parable of The Persistent Widow 🤲🏼
How quickly do we give up on our prayers?
Sometimes the Lord answers our prayers with a "no" but many times we give up on our prayers too quickly and assume His answer is "no" when it's actually "not yet". Today's parable reminds us that we should be persistent in our prayers. If we haven't heard an answer, we should keep praying. Daily, nightly, multiple times a day even.
Sometimes we think we might be bothering the Lord but the Lord is not bothered. Sometimes we think we are being too needy but there is no amount of neediness that will upset Him. The Lord would want nothing more. In fact in scripture it is not "neediness" that becomes a spiritual problem. Not even once! Rather it is the feeling of complacency and self-sufficiency that often leads to decadence and spiritual decay.
He will bring justice to those who cry out to him day and night. That is a promise.
"Won't God do justice for His chosen ones, who cry out to Him day and night?" Luke 18:7
