Quiet Invisible Growth 🤫
Messiah compares the growth of the Kingdom to the quiet, secret work of a seed rooting beneath the ground.
Last year, I scattered native prairie seeds over the snow on my property. They vanished beneath the white blanket, and for months I saw nothing. I began to wonder if the birds had eaten every last one of the thousands of seeds I had labored to sow. I almost lost hope. But as the seasons turned and the earth began to warm, something began to stir. The summer heat came and went, and when the autumn rains arrived, suddenly green life began to appear everywhere! Now, I expect even more to sprout in the years ahead.
When a seed is planted in the fall, it buries itself deep into the soil. The seed must die as the roots crack it open. Those roots grow quietly all winter and spring unseen, yet steady and strong. Though invisible to the eye, growth is taking place in secret. And when the time is right, a tender shoot suddenly breaks through the surface!
So it is with the Kingdom. Its growth is quiet and unassuming, humble and meek. The work of the Lord often happens unseen, hidden to human eyes. We may feel discouraged at times, doubting the progress of His promises. But faith is hope in things unseen! And one day, when we least expect it, the shoot will spring forth and the harvest will be ready. In the blink of an eye, Messiah will appear in the sky 🕊️🌱
