Torah Portion Journal 5787: Bereshit-Lech Lecha 🎉
This Sunday is Simchat Torah which means we are starting a brand new Torah cycle! The name "Simchat Torah" means "Rejoicing with (or of) the Torah" in Hebrew. It typically falls on the 22nd day of the Hebrew month of Tishrei, immediately following the festival of Sukkot.
This Shabbat, October 10, we begin a brand new Torah cycle with Bereshit! We just celebrated Simchat Torah, which means "Rejoicing with the Torah" in Hebrew, and now we start again from the very beginning. Welcome to the 5787 Torah year!
