Shabbat Blessing Copybook Lesson

Learn the "Kiddush" blessing at home and practice memorization with copybook work. This table blessing is said on shabbat (sabbath) or during meal times as a blessing over the fruit of the vine and bread.

Suggested Instructions for Copybook Lessons:
1. Recite the verse out loud and have your child join you
2. Trace and copy the verse on the copybook sheet
3. Draw a picture of the verse

Suggested prayer instructions:

"Kiddush" is a prayer said over the fruit of the vine which includes wine and grape juice (On Shabbat the person reciting kiddush raises the goblet of grape juice. The person reciting the blessing or those dining drink at least half the juice in the goblet)

"Hamotzi" is a prayer said over the bread (On Shabbat two loaves are uncovered and raised by the person reciting the blessing. The one reciting the blessing tears off a chunk, eats, and passes the loaf around for others to also tear and eat. We then proceed to enjoy other food.)
